Is it possible
That someone like you
Could complete me?
You’re the only one I want
The only one I think about
The only one I truly love
You’ve treated me wrong sometimes
As I’ve done the same
But everyone makes mistakes
And your not one of mine
Be with me for the rest of time
I’ll give you my heart
And you give me your mind

If you have a very low self esteem or a lack of self-confidence you may be seeking help to gain extra confidence.
I was somebody who had a severe confidence crisis from the ages of four until the age of around twenty two.
At the age of twenty two I started on a mission of self improvement and to try to make myself increase happiness levels in my own life.
I started reading various books and articles on increasing confidence and gaining self esteem.

Happiness isn’t:
More money than you can spend….
Puffier hair…
A face lift…
Well behaved children…
A handsome or beautiful spouse…
A huge house, a four car garage…
A nicer lawn, more trees…
Being a bum, being a workaholic, being both…
Having an affair with a different person every month…
Being an expert, being stupid…

Do you belong to the ??I??ll be happy when???? brigade?
Are you, and those around you, constantly looking to some future event, or change in circumstances, for your own happiness? And if so, do you realise how damaging to your long term mental health this kind of comment can be?
Listen to yourself for a day and make a note of the times you say in conversation, ??I??ll be happy when???? or something similar.
Suppose you come up with a list something like:
??I??ll be happy when the kids are in full time education.??
??I??d just be happy if he??d stop smoking??
??I??ll be glad when I??ve found another job,?? or
??I??d be happy if I could lose 20lb.??

How is your relationship with yourself? Do you have a relationship with you? I encourage you to ponder into the deep side of you and meditate upon the mysteries of who you are, or better yet, of whom you can become. I firmly believe that before we can have significant and lasting relationships with others, we need to understand the person we are now and the person we can become.
I urge you to break free from your inhibitions and ask yourself, “Who am I?” “What is my purpose in life?” Answer with complete truth and honesty. Then live your life off of that foundation. Base your life upon who you are. Break free from your doubts and fears and be happy loving who you are. Once you love who you are, you will be totally free to love others.
